Chung Cheng High School 74th School Anniversary Guard-of-Honour Contingent 2013

On 20th July 2013, our school marked its 74th Anniversary and official opening of Chung Cheng High School (Main) New Buildings. The cadets from our NPCC Unit, as well as those from CCHY NPCC Unit, formed the Guard-of-Honour Contingent of the opening ceremony, welcoming our distinguished Guest-of-Honour, Mr Heng Swee Keat, Minister for Education.

While the event might not have been as grand as the previous year, there was still a palpable tension in the air as cadets from both CCHMS and CCHY changed into their Number One uniform. The cadets repeatedly checked each other's uniforms, ensuring that they looked their best and as smart and stately as possible. They then proceeded to the hall, lining up in 2 rows awaiting the start of the opening ceremony.

The level of excitement and nervousness was at an all time high. With final checks of their uniform and corrections to their salute, the cadets proceeded into the hall in an orderly file.

It was a joyous event as the school celebrated the occasion with performances by CCHMS Chinese Orchestra, CCHY Festival Drums and numerous award presentations such as the Chuang Wei Liang Mathematics Award, Chuang Chu Lin Scholarship and the 'Student of the Year' Award.

In commemoration of the 74th Anniversary and the Opening of our new School Buildings, Minister Heng launched the Chung Cheng Heritage Trail ICT Mobile Application, which allows students to navigate around significant sites of the school and explore the school's rich culture and history in the designated hotspots, and at the same time preserve the school's rich heritage.

As part of the CCHS family, we rejoice in this heartwarming occasion and look forward to the brighter years to come! :D

Area 11 Games Day and Secondary One Swearing-In Ceremony 2013

On 6th July 2013, our school hosted the Area 11 Games Day, in conjunction with the Secondary One Swearing-In Ceremony. The event was graced by Area 11 Assistant Commandant A/DSP (NPCC) Choo Yong Guan.

The morning kicked off with the Secondary One Swearing-In Ceremony, where the Sec 1 cadets were introduced to the history as well as vision and mission of NPCC, and most importantly, they were officially sworn-in as members of the National Police Cadet Corps. With pride and conviction, Sec 1 cadets from the six Area 11 schools recited the Swearing-In Pledge and NPCC Pledge. These schools include Broadrick Secondary School, Chung Cheng High School (Main), St. Patrick's School, Tanjong Katong Girls' School, Tanjong Katong Secondary School and Victoria School.

We sincerely wish all Secondary One cadets the very best in their next 4 years in NPCC! :)

After the Swearing-In Ceremony, the long awaited Area 11 Games Day finally commenced! :D Besides the 6 schools from Area 11, Maris Stella High School and Presbyterian High School also joined us and participated in the games.

Each individual school came up with a game and there were 5 game stations in total, mainly 'Shuttle Challenge' organised by Broadrick Secondary, 'Dodgeball' organised by St. Patrick's School, 'Balancing Act' organised by Tanjong Katong Girls' School, 'Circuit Race' organised by Tanjong Katong Secondary School and lastly, 'Standing as One' organised by our school. :D

'Standing as One'
As all the games were held at the school hall, excitement and enthusiasm was bubbling throughout the whole event. Camaraderie among the Sec 1 cadets were observed as teams of 5 work together, in the hope of clinching the overall champion. Effort was definitely put in and teamwork was incorporated in the pursuit of excellence.

'Circuit Race'

The officers were also enjoying themselves as they went round game stations trying out the different games, and one particular game was extremely invigorating for everyone - Dodgeball. :D The game was especially exhilarating as the officers challenged the five Sec 1 cadets from Team Chung Cheng. Players hit by the ball would be out of the game, and those 'surviving' ones on court would be able to revive a 'dead' teammate if he/she was able to catch the opponent's ball.

The determination, teamwork and laughter were evident on our dear Sec 1 cadets' faces. The event ended off on a really high note as teams cheered for one another when the results of the games were announced. As the 2nd Overall IC for the event, it felt really heartening to see the genuine smiles from the cadets. :)

'Cheese' :D
We would like to congratulate all winners in the different games for their wonderful performance, and also the team from Maris Stella High School for winning the overall champion! :D The team had the overall best results over all 5 games among the eight schools.

Lastly, a very big THANK YOU to all Cadet Leaders for their hardwork and effort put into the planning of the event, and special thanks to the Executive Committee and our Overall I.C, Gene. :D It was a well-executed and successful event!

49th Batch of CLs' POP on 7 June 2013

Hey everyone(:

This is the day where we, the 49th batch of CLs had our Passing-Out Parade, the day where we finally step down from our posts, and the day which marks the end of our four-year journey in CCHMS NPCC.

This four-year journey definitely was not an easy one as it was filled with all kinds of ups and downs. We went through tough and crazy times together, but at the same time, we also went through awesome and fun times together, and we have all definitely grown up as a squad. These four-years worth of memories will definitely stay in our hearts forever.

As the story on the journey of the 49th batch of CLs has finally comes to an end *awww*, a new chapter begins with the 50th batch of CLs taking over the Unit!(: *Claps*

Congratulations to our new Chairperson, Gene,  and our three Deputy Chairpersons, Benjamin, Zi Gi and Si Ning, as well as the rest of the 50th CL Committee! (: Hope that they'll do a great job in running the Unit and bring the Unit to greater heights (:

So now it's time to say our goodbyes...
We had a really great time taking all of you for activity for the past one year when were appointed as CLs, teaching and guiding all of you and watching all of you grow to become better people. Thank you all for all the great times we've spent together(:  We hope all of you will develop to become outstanding leaders yeah(: Continue to learn new things and enjoy the time you spend with your squad in NPCC too(:

We would also like to thank the TOs, HOs, and CIs for their time and patience in teaching us, motivating us and nurturing us to become great leaders throughout the four years in NPCC(: Thank you so much(:

Brendon and Clara will be managing this blog from now on, so do continue to support them and frequent this blog yeah(:

Last activity on 12 April 2013...

Hey everyone(:

Since this is the last activity conducted by us, the 49th batch of CLs, before we step down, we decided to let all of you have games all the way~ whoo~
Hope all of you had fun playing Captain's Ball and Dodgeball, and had a great time having your heart-to-heart talk session with your CLs(:

Since it's the last activity, it means that our journey as the 49th batch of CLs is coming to an end, and we'll soon be stepping down and having our POP. It definitely wasn't an easy journey for all of us, going through lots of ups and downs together. However, it was a really worthwhile and enjoyable journey, thanks to all of you(:

This also means that the Sec3s aka CLTs will be stepping up yeah, do support them and respect them too. Don't be rude uhh(:

To end off this post, I shall present another lovely quote to all of you(:

Training on 27 March 2013

Hey hey we're having activity again~ Hope everyone had a good March holiday last week and had rejuvenated yourselves to start the new term ahead(:

Our lovely Sec1s brushed up on all the basic footdrills they have learnt so far and were introduced to turning drills such as turning to the left and right(:
As for our splendid Sec2s, they revise pacing drills and saluting on the march, how delightful(:
On the other hand, our marvelous Sec3s revised on their flagstaff and lashings. To prepare them for their upcoming shoot, they had their .22 revolver training, how pleasant(:

To end off this post, I would like to present to you a lovely quote, which I hope every squad is able to achieve(:

Coming together is a Beginning,
Keeping together is a Progress,
Working Together is a Success.               -Henry Ford

Goodbye awesome people, have a great day ahead(:
