24 December 2008

Today is Christmas Eve and tomorrow will be Christmas. With Christmas coming the official countdown to school reopening has started. The first day of school is Friday, which is NP day, your individual squad CLs will give you more information. Including that day, your CLs, us, has 11 more official activities with you all.(But for those going for NPDP I suppose you all have 2 more activities left) Please cherish the final few moments with your CLs, we are reaching the ending point of NP. Your CLs have come a long way to reach here. From a batch of blur sotongs to a batch of CLs, the path is long but yet short. Some of you might hate your CLs, we know, we have been through what you all had went through. At the first two NP activities, the new batch of secondary one students will be coming to visit our CCA, so I suppose you all know what you all are suppose to do.
Lastly, Happy Christmas and Merry New Year
Sec 3 squad picture...Taken at the last activity i think. See how LB CL is smiling?? Hes happy to take your squad...
CLs informal shot. In NPCC one must always find fun out of nothing at all. So you would not pon. Seriousness:Craziness 50:50, ok maybe 40:60. JH looking at us like jealous worrrrxzc....

This is the formal photo shot of CLs squad. Its taken during the AGM( annual general meeting) between CLs and Ms Wan. The meeting went through the UOPA stuff and SPF badge).

FOR UOPA, IT STARTS YEAR 2009 AND THE EFFORTS BY BOTH CL SQUAD AND NEXT YEAR SEC 3 SQUAD COUNT. SO SEC 3S YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO RIGHT.

Its to get UOPA GOLD. Its sound very imba if your CCA gets UOPA GOLD right... So help out by not ponning. YOU CAN GET MORE CCA POINTS IF YOUR CCA GETS GOLD.

Oh ya and I remembered Lin Bing asking Ms Wan. 'So if we do not get gold for UPOA what's gonna happen?.....' LOLOLOLOL

Anyway those bottom 3 why aren't both your hands on your knees?!? It's a formal shot
And by the way i lied about 'YOU CAN GET MORE CCA POINTS IF YOUR CCA GETS GOLD. '

14 November 2008 Activity

Last Friday (14 November 2008), the cadet leaders have embarked on a new physical training session to engage the cadets in a livelier manner. It was a spilt physical training session last week for the secondary ones and the secondary twos. It was a whole new experience for the cadets and the cadet leaders as all of them gained a deeper insight about the strenuous criteria for the NAPHA test. In addition, some of the secondary twos took the lance corporal test while the secondary threes revise their arm drills. Last but not least, the attendance was rather good last week and we hope that everyone will carry on with the good work!

6 November 2008

Air Pistol Course

On Tuesday, some of the Cadet Leaders and the Secondary One Cadets went to SAFRA for the air pistol course. It was indeed an enriching course in which the Secondary Ones gain exposure to the methods of handling an air pistol etc. It was also an enlightening experience for the Cadet Leaders since the last time they went for the course was in Secondary Twos, thus it was a form of memory spark for them. Even though the Secondary Ones did not really had the real practice shoot, but as the saying goes “A good foundation is the mother to all success”. Let’s just hope that the next practice shoot will be in the near future so that all of the Secondary Ones will be able to put their knowledge to good use.

Some inspirational quotes to liven up the spirits of cadets!!

  • "See first that the design is wise and just; that ascertained, pursue it resolutely."
We must be determined in whatever we do, even if the odds seem against us. Remember!! there is always a silver lining behind every dark cloud...
  • "Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right."

If we think we can, we can.. this quote is directed at all the cadets and cadet leaders who are preparing for the end of year examinations!! Good Luck!! May everyone score an A1 for all the subjects!!

  • "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit."

We must all strive towards success!! Study hard and everyone will be rewarded...

15 Aug Activity

Secondary 2 Cadets playing games with a CL.

Secondary 2 Cadets learning survival cooking skills.

Secondary 3 Cadets revising baton drills.

Although many CLs were busy with fancy drills performance at the start of the activity, Ji Hao was able to keep the Secondary 2 cadets occupied while their squad-takers are busy with the performance. Also, he was able to control the Secondary 3 cadets until their squad-takers are back from their performance. The Secondary 2 squad-takers taught their cadets survival cooking skills for most of the activity while the Secondary 3 squad-takers taught and revised with their cadets baton drills and also to prepare them for the impending Corporal promotion test.

POP 2008.

Frm Publication Department Head 2008.

Laughters. That was the major component that made up the passing out parade 2008 for the 44th NCO sqd. The parade took place in concourse, due to d unexpected rain. But the outstanding drilling given by the NCO sqd 2008 certainly gave all the cadets a target to reached for.

One by one, each and every NCO went up and received their Certificate of Appreciation and plague from the OC. After which, the parade commander, SI(NPCC)HeWei , hand over the parade to Corporal(NPCC)RuiJing, and the NCO sqd gave their last salute to the officers. All of the NCOs except SI JiaYing n SI HeWei threw their beret up in the air which symbolise the passing out. It was a moment never to be forgotten.

The performance put up by the 3 Sqds were certainly meaningful n memorable. The PowerPoint slides prepared by the Chair and Vice-chair of the NCO sqd was hilarious and it goes back all the way to the Sec 1 life of the sqd. All of the NCOs laugh at the old memories and the funny bits.

Updates!

The Campcraft Boys team had their competition today at the Home Team Academy Field. The boys were excited and nervous with the competition. The NCOs shared encouraging words with the cadets, as well as reminding them vital points to look out for in the competition on the bus. The atmosphere in the HTA was tense and exciting with all the perparation works being done, and the other teams getting ready. When the guys entered the competition field, the supporting audience which included the campcraft girls, cheered and gave the guys our moral support. Every minute was crucial and breath-taking when the starting horn sounded. The guys gave their full effort and completed their task within the time limit. Although some unexpected senario occured, the guys still manage to errect the flagstaff, completed the shelter and the gadget. After the judging, the guys shared tips and advice with the campcraft girls. It was indeed a unforgetful event. Let us all give the guys team our all rounding support in getting into the finals!

THREE CHEER FOR THE CAMPCRAFT GUYS TEAM!

Campcraft Frenzy!

6th training for the diligent Campcraft Team! Well, I must say that I am very impressed by what I have seen from them so far: great team spirit, fantastic attitude towards training and the desire to improve as a whole team! Well done!

Everyone is up and training starts at 8am every Saturday and this has been ongoing for several weeks. Glad to say, the Team has been performing exceptionally well! They consist of:

Boys: Delvis [Captain]
DeTian [ Vice-Captain]
HeWei
JinXue
Kian Hao
RuiJing
Sin Yong
WeiYang
Raymond
WeiKian

Girls: XiaoHui [Captain]
JiaYing [Vice-captain]
YiXin
HuiYing
Karen
Jennifer
XinYi
WaiTing
Jeanette
SiLi
Kamy

To the INCREDIBLE Campcraft Team, the importance of team work has been emphasized throughout all trainings, for it is only then that the Chung Cheng High (Main) NPCC Unit would be able to attain new heights. Though the training is tough and exhausting, I am sure we will be able to overcome all the hurdles that lie before us, and cross the finishing line as ONE TEAM.

If we put in our 100% and push ourselves to our limits for all trainings, we are already CHAMPIONS! Let’s press on Team! =D

Special Messages From Your Tender-Hearted HO (Part 1):

1) Delvis, it’s time to buy a new pair of track pants!

2) Delvis (again), treat your friends nicer so that they will tell you immediately when your pants have spilt rather than one hour later!

3) Delvis (and once again), stop distracting the Team during debriefs! Like sticking things on places where they are not supposed to be found!

4) Jinxue, warm up your toes before exercises next time!

5) Mr Gloomy No 1 and No 2, smile more! Remember, your helpful HO is always there for you all! Plus, the ‘Heart-to-Heart Talk’ sessions are open for registration too! Sign up if you need to talk to me! =)

6) Xiao Hui, take note of point No 3 above!

7) Yixin, you have to control the devil within you and not laugh at others’ misfortune! Haha…

Several more ‘Special Messages From Your Tender-Hearted HO’ will continue to be published as we have more training! If you don’t understand what I am referring to, fear not! Ask the Campcraft Team and see if they are willing to share these inside jokes!

Meanwhile, I hope that I have injected much FUN and laughter and that everyone enjoys the sessions as we sweat under the hot sun and endure numerous blisters. Team, remember the MAGIC WORDS!

From Your Always Friendly and Caring HO,
Junyi

CCA recruitment drive 2008

The CCA recruitment drive was a success as we manage to attract the interest of many of the Sec 1s.

The firing range we build attracted many of the Sec 1s to try out. The flyers and magazine we gave out also contains many information regarding NPCC. We believe that we had made an stand in the many choices of the Sec1s.

Pictures taken are up in the photoalbum, in the [ccaday] album.

We thanks all for the help and support given during the recruitment drive.
