Last training of the year, 9 November 2012

Hey everyone(:
This will be the last activity of the year. Aww :( Anyway, the Sec2s revised their marching drills,  and also learnt a new drill Quick Mark Time(Hentak Kaki Cepat Hentak). Good job but there's still room for improvement of course. As for the Sec3s, everyone tried out squad taking. Many of you need to train on projecting your voice, and to be more confident as well.
In a few days' time, you all will be having your promotion test, whereby the sec2s will be having their L/Cpl(NPCC) test and the Sec3s will be having their Cpl(NPCC) test. Best of luck to everyone and Jiayous! Practice makes perfect(: Prepare yourselves well and be confident as well(:
This will be the last blogpost of the year, but no worries, this blog will be alive again next year, full of posts and photos(: I hope everyone will have a great holiday ahead, take good care of your health as well. Don't forget what your CLs have taught you this year yeah. (:
Ta-tas for this year(:

P.S. Do your homework too.

你好!最近还好吗?学习生活如何?xD
So for this activity, the Sec2s learnt marching and how to stop as well(: They also learnt how to ke-belakang pusing; about turn on the march(: jiayous yeah(:  As for the Sec3s, they had drill revision and learnt eyes left and eyes right, which is done during marching. They were also given the time to teach each other baton drills and squad taking, as there were some of them who didn't learn the last activity. I hope everyone had fun(:
时间不早了, 我也该停笔了. 希望大家都学到了新东西。谢谢!(:

大家好!
在今天的课外活动中, the Sec2s were taught how to march(: And of course, how to stop when marching. Everyone did pretty well for their first tr, keep it up(:  However, not many of them turn up for activity as they had to prepare for Drama night.  On the other hand, the Sec3s learnt squad taking and how to do drills with baton(: Due to time constrain, not everyone tried squad taking, what a pity. Fear not, we still have other activities to try out as well. Everyone learnt quite fast for the baton drills, but practice makes perfect~
Everything you all have learnt are really important, so everyone please practice what you have learnt so far yeah(:

24 October 2012, Service Day(:

Hi Hi(:
On 24 October 2012, we had Service Day(: What's that? The NPCC Service Day is an annual event where NPCC cadets are deployed to perform community services, where they get to go door-to-door in HDB flats and interact with the residents to raise awareness on crime prevention measures(: For this year, we had to mainly raise awareness on bicycle theft, unlicensed money lending and road safety. As this is the first time the Sec2s are doing Service Day, the CLs had to guide them on what they had to say, as well as the do's and don't's when interacting with the residents. It was a meaningful experience, and the residents were really friendly(: I hope everyone had fun during this day and gain much insights as well(:

Training on 19 October 2012

Hey hey(: For this activity, the sec2s didn't have activity, awww :( But the Sec3s got to learn more campcraft(: However, again, there was a super heavy downpour... But that did not stop them from learning about hurricane lamp! They got to learn about the parts of the lamp and how to light up the lamp etc. But the best part was extinguishing the flame(: It may sound easy, but trust me, for some, it was like trying to blow out inextinguishable candles on a birthday cake x)
Later on, the rain stopped and they got to pitch tents. But you guys really need to improve in working faster yeah. That's all for now(:

Hey guys(:
So during this training, there was a heavy downpour :( But no worries, we still managed to have activity indoors(: The Sec2s had their campcraft revision, knots and lashings of course(: keep on tying those poles with lashings yeah, practice makes perfect(: For the Sec3s, due to the weather, they were not able to pitch tent. Instead, they learnt tent-pitching theory, such us how to tie bowline and tent guy loop, and the positions to peg etc. A session of tent-pitching 101(: Yup so everyone did campcraft, Hope you all enjoyed(: Ta-tas for now~

Training on 24 August 2012

Hey guys(:
So, for this week, the sec2s learnt how to tie different knots, such as bowline, sheepshank, figure-of-8 knot etc, which will be important for their campcraft badge(: We hope you all will remember how to tie the different knots well and not forget them(:
As for the sec3s, they learnt how to salute on the march to the left and right. There's still room for improvement for your drills, so jiayous!

To end off this post, I have a good news(:
On this day, it was the Finals for the Inter-Area Project-Based Competition. This competition requires cadets in the same Area to undertake a minor research project into a police-related topic. Ming Xuan CL and I participated in this competition together with Area 11. For the Finals, we had to do a presentation/skit based on the topic we have chosen, which is child sexual abuse.(Why such a topic? Because it is hardly talked about and we want to raise awareness). We emerged as champions! Yay(:
That's all for now(:

Training on 17 August 2012

Let's keep it short and sweet :D
1. Sec2s had no activity cause most of them got oral (aww too bad...)
2. The Sec1s had  the opportunity to learn some campcraft!
Although what you all learnt was rather little, and much was focused on practice, I have high hopes that you all will be able to complete the campcraft syllabus in time for Lance Corporal Promotion Test!
Keep practising when you all are free and never give up on yourselves!
All of us CLs learnt before and I'm sure that you all will be able to reach our standard in no time!
(But of course, complacency isn't very good)
Anyways, good luck for EOYs and don't forget, if you ever need help on anything (be it studies or NP stuff), don't hesitate to ask us! :))

Just a couple of photos:) ---
