4 November 2007

On the 3rd of November, CCHMS had its Open House and all CCA groups are invited to set up booths as part of promoting our school, and our unit reacted enthusiastically to it. We built structure, hanged up banners, gave out flyers of our own design, and had baton drills demonstration, fancy drills performance, who had wide support from the visitors. Our booth managers oso explained the activities and the fun we had in NPCC.

All the hard work we made in the structure making was paid off when it was the tallest structure in the whole of open house, and it was fun to those who climbed it and enjoyed the cool wind and the grand view of Chung Cheng on our structure.

With the impression we have made, i am sure we will get a good response when we have our CCA recruitment drive.

This is a picture of our structure and our banner on the day of the open house 2007.

23 July 2007

The 44th batch of NCOs have taken over for over a month, and it was a new experience for the new NCOs as they carry the new responsibilities their new post holds. It was indeed challenging for us to carry out our new duties but it was fun, learning new skills along the way.The Publication Department sincerely apologize for the late arrival of this post as we too, have to adjust to the changes.

ATC 2007

On the 27th of July, the sec 2 n 3s cadets went on a adventure learning camp in NPCC Camp Resilience, Pulau Ubin.It was an all new experience for the Sec 2 and a re-experience for the Sec 3. We took the bumboat which transport us over to Pulau Ubin, and we trekked up to the campsite, feeling nervous yet excited to what is in store for us. The 3 day 2 night stay was an all new experience for the sec 2s as they get to try out different activities which they have little chance to try out such as kayaking, and enjoyed the ice-breaker games organised by the officers. They also had their first experience of bunking in a tent which they pitched themselves. The Sec 3s also had a memorable experience as they tried out new activities such as rafting, high element challenges etc. Meeting friends which they had befriend during 2006 ATC was also an enjoyable experience.

The highlight of the camp was the campfire which was held on the second night. It was also a farewell party to Mr Ang, the AC of Area 11, who is retiring. Everyone was enthusiastic and sang their loudest for every song and participated actively in all the action songs. The performance put up by each school was interesting too and all of us enjoyed it immensely. The performance we put up was the song, ''Season In The Sun'', followed by a ''rock you'' cheer. And that really shows the unit spirit we had within ourselves. the campfire ended with a speech made by the AC, and everyone left with a heavy heart, knowing that Mr Ang will not be serving NPCC anymore.

The last day of campfire ended with Area cleaning, and everyone put their heart and souls into it, with gratitude to the logistics that spent 3 days with us, providing us with either shelter or food. After Area cleaning, we met up with the Sec 2s and set for home, leaving with both happiness and sadness. Happy with the new lessons that we have learnt, and sad at with the thought of separating with our old/new friends.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2006

Annual General Meeting 2006 was held on 12 Jan this year. Before the meeting officially began, Ms Wan extended a warm welcome to all Sec 1s whom were there to 'experience NPCC for the first-time!). Through the meeting, the unit had been updated with the latest information and also, there was a brief recap of the activities of 2006. A clip of the NPCC HQ was shown and through that, the unit understood what were the happenings in the NPCC HQ for the yewar 2006.

A general summary of the happenings on 12Jan:
-Sec1s joined
-They were briefly introduced to the CCA
-They also played some games
-Due to the rain, the muster parade was being held indoors at LT1
-Various ranks and badges were given out (Lance Corporal, Corporal, etc.)

CHAPTER 1.2 (ADD-ON): THE CAMPFIRE

aFTER the CCA drive, we prepared for the campfire. We cooperated with members of other CCAs in the preparation. It rained heavily in the evening and we had to stop what we are doing. Most of us hid under the 'stage' (tables..... actually). Not wasting time, we tied the 'legs' of the 'inner' tables with the cables while we were 'hiding' under the 'stage'

Some of the NCOs put up a fascinating fancy drill performance on that nite. By 9.15pm, the campfire ended.

CHAPTER 1: WELCOME!!!!!!

Welcome to the new unit blog! But first, the publications department would like to apologise for the shutting down of the former website. It is due to some technical problems...... Anyway, back to now, the publications department hope that all of u, members of CCHMS NPCC, like this blog and would constantly visit this blog. It has undergone a facelift (in terms of the format and contents of the website), and now it comes to u in the form of a general blog. We have decided to take a simple approach to it and not make it so complex and sophisticated (is this word correct?? maybe...........). Updates would be made as frequently as possible.

CHAPTER 2.1:CCA RECRUITMENT DRIVE 2007

Well, for the first 'official' post of this new unit blog, we shall begin with a summary of the CCA Day. It was the CCA recruitment drive on 5 jAN 07. pREPARATIONS fOr IT hAD BEGAN PRIOR To that day. tHe Structures have beEn built and EvERYTHING WAS READY FOR IT.

On that day, everthing went accordingly as planned. The structures were given final touches before the drive began.

It is glad to see that quite a number of people are interested in joining NPCC. Some, when they came across our booth, were more or less attracted (maybe by the nicely-done posters or for other reasons-not so sure) and some even requested for the brochure themselves. Many were fascinated at the sight of the Mark 4 and Mark 5 showcased at our booth, especially the boys. However, we had to shift our display and things to an inner booth stationed in the next to the staircase in the concourse. Who knows? After a few minutes, the rain had stopped and we moved everything back to the main booth.

>>>>>>Next post coming to you...... Chapter 2.2: the Campfire nite.
